Kawa-Kawa Falls | A Butt-Rounded Pan Like Basin

Kawa-Kawa Falls
Kawa-Kawa Falls is located in Brgy. Bangcuangan Sta. Cruz, Marinduque. This is a must visit travel destination when visiting the province of Marinduque aside from Busay and Paadjao Falls. The whole place around the falls is under the management of Local Government Unit.

According to my Uncle itself, the local people named it as Kawa-Kawa because the first and upper water basin is similar to a butt-rounded pan. The basin is clean and cold but not clear (cloudy) unlike the other falls I've encountered before. Tour guide is not required here that's why some part of the area aren't protected and well maintained. You can see a lot of candy wrappers and junk foods within the area as well as vandalism in some rocks. I just hope that the management will do an actions regarding this problem

In a brighter side, Kawa-kawa Falls is still a worth to visit destination here in Marinduque. Entrance fee is just Php 10.00 per head and if you want to avail a cottage, you'll be paying Php 50.00 only.

How to get there:

Manila : Ride a bus (Jac Liner in Kamias, Cubao) going to Dalahican Port in Lucena City, Quezon Province (fare is Php 227.00 for regular and Php 182.00 for Senior/Student with a travel time of approximately 4-5 hours). When you arrived in Port, buy tickets depending on Shipping Lines schedule (Starhorse and Montenegro) (fare is Php 260.00 for regular and Php 186.00 for Senior/Student plus a Php 30.00 terminal fee per head with a travel time of approximately 3-4 hours). When you reached Balanacan port, ride a van or jeepney bound for Sta. Cruz, fare is Php 80.00 for regular and less Php 10.00 for senior and student with a travel time of 1-2 hours depending on delays.

Marinduque : From Sta. Cruz Town Proper, ride a tricycle and tell the driver that you're going to Kawa-Kawa Falls and they already know where to drop you off. In our case, we rented our friend's tricycle and he brought us to the Brgy. Bangcuangan and paid Php 200.00 round trip for 6 persons.
