Bantakay Falls

Quezon National Park is not just about Mt. Pinagbanderahan, it also covered different caves and waterfalls within the area. One of these hidden falls that can visit is the Bantakay Falls. It is located in Brgy. Sta. Catalina Atimonan, Quezon Province, just ride a tricycle from the tourism office going to the jump off area.

How to get there: Ride a Bus going to Lucena Grand Terminal specifically in Jac Liner (in front of Jam Liner in GMA Kamuning), fare is Php 218.00 with a travel time of 4-5 hours depending on delays. Drop in Lucena then ride another bus going to Atimonan, Quezon. Tell the driver that you're going to Bantakay Falls, fare is Php 35.00 and additional 1 hour travel time. Drop off at Kuya Bebot's house. It is the registration area where you will write your name for the tourist monitoring, no registration fee as of now. Tour Guide is required and you need to pay Php 300.00 per group. Please be aware that the trail going to Bantakay Falls is not that easy as expected. Most of the trails are steep although almost half of it were cemented. 

Beautiful Rock Formation

Our guide informed me that the water current of Bantakay Falls wasn't the same like than before that most of the rocks are being covered by the raging water of this waterfalls. In addition to that, the main reason of this is the conflict between the owner and the local people of the area so there's still a hanging petition between both parties. Anyway, Bantakay Falls is still very majestic and one of a kind waterfalls in Quezon Province. 

Amazing Color of the Catch Basin

Once you reached Bantakay Falls, you will see the surreal beauty of it. The amazing light turquoise color of the catch basin is fantastic. The green plants surrounds the waterfalls made the scenic view stunning. You’ll also have the chance to experience the pinch like feelings on your feet caused by the small shrimps living in this basin .
