Marinduque is pronounced as "Marin'Duke" in Tagalog and part of MIMAROPA (Region IV-B) in the Philippines. Municipality of Boac is the capital of this province. It is considered as the Heart of the Philippines in accordance to its Heart-Shaped appearance as an island and aside from that, Marinduque is also considered as the geographical center of the Philippine archipelago by the Luzon Datum of 1911 (the mother of all Philippines Geodetic Survey). It is situated between Tayabas Bay in the north and Sibuyan Sea to the south. The island of Marinduque is separated from the Quezon Province (east) and Mindoro Island (west).

Kawa-Kawa Falls
Kawa-Kawa Falls is located in Brgy. Bangcuangan Sta. Cruz, Marinduque. This is a must visit travel destination when visiting the province of Marinduque aside from Busay and Paadjao Falls. The whole place around the falls is under the management of Local Government Unit.

According to my Uncle itself, the local people named it as Kawa-Kawa because the first and upper water basin is similar to a butt-rounded pan. The basin is clean and cold but not clear (cloudy) unlike the other falls I've encountered before. Tour guide is not required here that's why some part of the area aren't protected and well maintained. You can see a lot of candy wrappers and junk foods within the area as well as vandalism in some rocks. I just hope that the management will do an actions regarding this problem
