Mt. Daraitan
This mountain is called Mt. Daraitan and it is located in the boundaries of Tanay, Rizal and General Nakar, Quezon Province where both province is part of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range. It is one of the top choices mountain by the mountaineers since the municipality of Tanay is just a 2 hours away from the Manila. It has gained its fame because of the additional adventure given by the Tinipak River as well as the nearby cave. Instead of going back to the jump-off area, better to take the recommended route going to Tinipak River (traverse). An experience here in Mt. Daraitan is like a package deal because you'll be able to experience the not so minor climb in Mt. Daraitan but so worth it, a mesmerizing limestone views from the Tinipak River, a refreshing water stream inside the cave  and the so called rain forest. A great way to escape the noisy place of Manila.

How to get there: It is so easy to locate this mountain, you need to ride either a Van (Php70) or a Jeepney (Php55) going to Tanay, Rizal. When you're there already, ride a tricycle that will takes you to the Barangay Hall in Daraitan (Php 500.00/5 persons) with a travel time of 1 1/2 hours.

Stone Art
From the connecting bridge that your vehicle will pass through, you will see this stone art beside the river. This place is known about this kind of art since the area is abundant by different sizes and shapes of stones. From here, you need to walk for about 10 minutes in order to reach the Registration Area in Barangay. Tourist should pay a registration fee of Php 20.00 per head and a required tour guide for Php 500.00 per group.

Rest
Some parts of the trail is not that easy but can still handle by a newbie. Overall, it's very much recommended for the beginners. The hikers are being protected by the tall trees from the scorching sun. No traces of Limatiks here so there's no reason to worry. You can have a rest in this area where you can see a very deep cave, I just don't know if it's already explored by the locals.

Summit
Heart of Sierra Madre
We reached the summit of Mt. Daraitan in just a matter of 1 1/2 hours. The overlooking views from the summit is priceless. It's all worth it when you see this amazing scenic views on top. You will able to see the extraordinary heart-shape river from the summit. It's a must see attraction and the real reason why it has has gained its popularity aside from the beautiful views of mountain ranges.

I just don't know if it's possible to pitch a tent for an overnight stay on top but you can use a hammock on a day hike trip if you want to take a nap before descending.

Traverse going to Tinipak
Traverse trail will take a longer time unlike in taking the same route but it's all worth it when you see the real beauty of Tinipak River.  This is one of the best river in Luzon that will give you a magical experience. Hiker can pitch their tent in the upper part of the river.

Amazing Limestone
Tinipak River
Bulky Rocks
Tinipak River is truly a hidden paradise of Tanay. It will give you a superb feeling of happiness. The  extraordinary limestone formations with different colors in some part made the river so fantastic. You will love the pristine clear water and emerald color of the river. You'll be amazed by the huge rocks within the river. There is also a part of the river where the water is safe to drink.

This place is good for picture taking and you can also eat your lunch here but make sure that you will keep the place clean and never leave a trace. You must be aware that this tourist destinations are under the protection of Tanay Tourism Office that's why the place is well-maintained and clean.

Stalactites
From Tinipak River, you need to trek for another 20 minutes to reach the cave. This is the last activity that you need to look forward. You will see this alive stalactites inside the cave but I'm not so sure if there are still species of Bats living here.

Water Stream
So Cold !
You will hear a sounds like a falls inside this cave as you get closer to the amazing body of water. You will witness the extraordinary and unique beauty of this cave. You will be mesmerized with its pristine clear water. This might be the last activity but this part made the adventure more interesting and exciting. When we dipped here, it was freaking cold but very memorable so we enjoyed this moment. It will just take 30 minutes experience inside the cave so make the most out of it.
