Mt. Gulugod Baboy
Mt. Gulugod Baboy is located in Anilao Mabini, Batangas, southern part of the province. Mabini is the home of extraordinary scenery under the sea that made it the most popular scuba diving spot in the Philippines. Gulugod Baboy is more likely a hills that traverse Calumpan Peninsula in Mabini. Hiking in this mountain was just a side trip before then eventually became a stand-alone tourists spot by the travelers because of its natural beauty. It is now well known as one of the beginner' top choice in terms of mountaineering due to its minor difficulty and just a 2 hours away from Metro Manila. This mountain has definitely gained its fame as weekend getaway.

How to get there: The best way to get here is to ride a bus either Jam Liner or DLTB Co. from Kamuning, Buendia or Taft going to Batangas Grand Terminal(Php 157.00), both terminal have trips every hour. From Grand Terminal, ride a Jeepney and tell the driver that you're going to Mabini (Php 35.00). Look for the Brgy. Hall where you can ride a tricycle and then drop off at Philpan Dive (Php 40.00).

Majestic Sunrise
Better to start your outdoor activity here in Mabini early in the morning. The morning breeze will give you a relaxing feeling and the sunrise will mesmerize your eyes. It is considered as a minor climb but it's somewhat different from what I felt when I climbed this mountain. The cemented trail made it a bit harder and really tiring. Anyway, I unexpectedly captured this dramatic silhouette image of a broken trunk of a tree that looks like a fist of a human.

Cemented Trail
The literal "Tuwid Na Daan" (straight road) where we took our rest. This is the easiest part of the trail because it's just a typical flat road.  You'll definitely get relaxed in terms of physical, mental and emotional.

Grassland View
It was just a matter of 1 hour trek before we reached the peak of Mt. Gulugod Baboy. The feeling was like you're in the beautiful island of Batanes. The downhill grassland with different kind of animals like goat at cow made it so similar to the surreal beauty of Batanes. You will enjoy the scenic view of Anilao and Balayan Bay as well as the West Philippine Sea. The wind was so cold and refreshing.

Chill
It is always better to visit this place on a weekday basis to escape the crowded scenario. It's still very much recommended for those first timer who want to try this kind of outdoor activity. Make sure that you're in a good status for you to really enjoy this trip. It's tiring and breath-taking but so worth it once you reached the summit. Enjoy!
