When you think of Rodriguez (formerly Montalban) Rizal, the first thing that comes to your mind is the word mountainous. This province is famous from different mountains, rivers, caves and other nature paradise. This province is just 2 hours away from the Metro Manila so it’s really easy to plan a travel getaway here.

How to get there: The best way is in Farmers, Cubao beside Jollibee. Ride a UV Express bound to Rodriguez (formerly Montalban), Rizal (fare is Php 50.00 and approximately 1 1/2 hours travel time). Drop off in Eastwood  then ride a Jeepney going to Brgy. Wawa, fare is Php 7.00 only and additional 10 mins. travel time.

Once you arrived in the Brgy. Wawa, register in Wawa Tourism Office and pay an entrance fee of Php 20.00 pr head. There will be an assigned tour guide for you since it's required by the management. One of the famous mountain that can be found in Rodriguez is Mt. Pamitinan. It’s one of the mountain being handled by the DENR and Tourism Office in Wawa. The other attractions here are Mt. Binacayan, Mt. Hapunang Banoi and Wawa Dam. The visitors are allowed to hike all the three mountains with a corresponding payment to guide.

Hanging Bridge
You need to use this hanging bridge in order to reach the jump point area going to Mt. Pamitinan. It used by the local people for their safety especially during rainy season. The stunning view of the river and the mountains will definitely mesmerize you.

Limestone And Rock Formation
The image of the wall in the picture is not just an ordinary rock formation. There are two interesting rock formations that you need to see because of its uniqueness. Aside from it, a lot of attractions are can be seen throughout the trek.

Rocky Portion
The trail going to the peak of Mt. Pamitinan is steeper than in Mt. Binacayan. It is surrounded by Bamboos and rocks with sharp edges. It is advisable to wear a gloves because you might get pricked by the rock and trekking shoes.

The Tour Guides of the Wawa Tourism Office are great in taking pictures. You will be amazed by the results of their shots. They know how to direct every angle of the subject in accordance to the view. Truly one of the reasons why this mountain experience is a very satisfying one.
