Mt. Binacayan | Smallest But Not The Easiest

Mt. Binacayan
Mt. Binacayan is considered to be the shortest among the 4 other mountains in Brgy. Wawa. It is known for being the twin mountain of Mt. Pamitinan and bordered by a river. It features the same scenic view on summit but has a different impact when it comes to the hiking experience. It’s very much recommended for someone who wants to try mountaineering.

You just need to come in Wawa Tourism Office as early as 6AM so you can register for a twin hike and even a triple hike in a single day. Tour Guide is required for every group with a maximum of 10 members and should pay Php 400.00 (500.00) and additional amount if twin or triple hike. One thing that is beneficial from having  a Guide is also by having a group photographer .There is also a registration fee of Php 2.00 per head and they have donation box, it’s up to you how much will you donate.

How to get there: you just need to ride an UV Express going to Rodriguez, Rizal in Farmers Cubao for Php 50.00. Then from Eastwood, ride a Jeep going to Tourism Office of Wawa for Php 8.00 (7.00). Once you arrived in Wawa, make sure to register because it is mandatory by the DENR and the local government of  Brgy. Wawa.

Ascend to a Rocky Trail
Better not to believe that since Mt. Banicayan is the shortest among other mountains, it will be the easiest. All of the mountains here in Wawa have a way of dealing to climbers with different level of difficulties. Its trail is longer and steeper than the trail of Mt. Pamitinan. The trail is not actually misleading but you’ll have to walk in a rocky portion of the trail that made it harder.

Mt. Paruwagan
Upon reaching the higher part of the mountain, you'll be able to see the Mt. Paruwagan. It’s like a mountain with very long cliff on top. According to our guide, it is not yet open for public because the local people are still locating the right trail towards the summit that is not risky for the possible climbers.

Assault
Before you reach its peak, you need to conquer this rocky portion of the mountain. These rocks have sharp edges that can damage and lacerate your clothes so better wear a gloves for the protection of your hands, thick clothes for your body and a trekking shoes for your feet. Helmet is optional for your head but for the sake of your safety, better have it. Additional tip, make sure that you put a sunblock to some parts of the body before hiking because you’ll be very exposed to the scorch light of the sun.

Almost Summit
When you really work hard, you'll receive your reward. It's not about who’s the first person to reach the peak, it's about on how the team helped each other just to reach the summit as one. At the end of the day, you’ll realized that it’s so satisfying and all worth it.

Mountainous
Can you guess these three mountains you see in this picture? Those are Mt. Ayaas (627+), Mt. Hapunang Banoi (517+) and Mt. Pamitinan (426+). Unfortunately, Mt. Ayaas is not opened for mountaineers temporarily due to conflict of the legality of its vicinity. Brgy Mascap and Brgy. Wawa is still negotiating who will manage the mountain. But if you want to climb Mt. Ayaas, visit Brgy. Mascap because they are open for the hikers who wants to climb this mountain.

Mt. Binacayan's Peak
The rocky view of Mt. Binacayan's Peak is fantastic. Its 360 degree view is amazing for the fact that you will able to see the four other mountains on summit. It's a worth to work hard activities that not all can achieve. This photo emphasized the beauty of rock formations and gave a dramatic effect. Make sure that you'll be safe if your group will try this because it's somewhat risky. Conquer your fear and use it as your strength. Enjoy the beauty of nature and how lucky you are to see this when you're still alive.
