What do you think is the true meaning of adventure?
Just like in the picture below, adventure for me is like a total darkness that I don't have any idea about the real essence of it. But that was before, I asked Google for me to know its exact meaning so according to this reliable source, adventure is an unusual and exciting activity in noun and exploration in unknown territory in verb.
Travel Adventure |
Back when I was a child, what I do most was playing inside our subdivision with my childhood friends. During school days, my parents were very strict that I need to come home early after my schooling that I never had the chance to bond with my classmates like going to somewhere else aside from our house. It was really boring so I called my childhood life as "The adventure of Jeric in studying ONLY". But I never regret it, I'm just a bit upset because it's like an incomplete experience for me as a kid.
The word adventure means "Field Trip" for me back when I was in my secondary and tertiary level. Why field trip? It's because that's the only chance for me to experience the so called adventure outside our place and can relate to the meaning of adventure about exploration in unknown territory. I can still remember that field trip was my favorite yearly event of life during those days.
Finally, my story now is about my adventure when I finished my studies then started to work and earn money. It's the beginning of my journey as a "Budgetarian Adventurer". It only means that I'm a travel adventurer but in a tight budget. So as much as possible, my expenses should be around Php 500 - 700 only.
It all started here. It was unplanned adventure with my friends due to cancellation of our original plan with our other friends. I can relate this adventure to a shadow because I followed the wrong information in a blog so it turned out to be a misadventure. We lost and it ruined our itinerary and our expected expenses. It's a lesson for us especially to me that never rely in one perspective. Keep on researching and look for its relevance to other blog sites to justify if the details are true and accurate to prevent some problems just like what we experienced in our first ever adventure outside Metro Manila on our own.
Mt. Gulugod Baboy's Summit |
You think we're good that time, no were not. Another thing, better to stick in the planned itinerary because you might not know that you're budget is exceeding to the estimated budget. After our hike in Mt. Gulugod, our original plan was to go in Masasa Beach located in Tingloy and just a 30 mins. afar from Anilao but it was changed on the spot that made us decide to go in Puerto Galera rather than Masasa Beach. It's great that we went there but our expenses exceeded from the original budget.I remembered that I paid their boat fare RT because they just brought exact amount of money according to the plan so they were lucky to have me , a free round trip Batangas - Galera experience.
White Beach, Puerto Galera |
So our next adventure was here in Cuenca, Batangas. The weather that day wasn't so good but the rain already stopped before we climb this mountain. We worked all together and help each other just to reach the summit that made us all tired. We were expecting to see the scenic view of Taal but it turned out to be like this. A pure foggy summit with no visibility though it's relaxing and still worth it. It's another first time adventure experience and very memorable to all of us despite of not achieving our real goal. Sometimes, the unexpected scenario makes the adventure even more memorable.
Mt. Maculot's Summit |
This was the most memorable adventure of our trio group. We were aware of the bad weather that time but we still pursued it just to satisfy ourselves. Just like what our expectations, we were the only visitors who still visit the place despite of bad weather. It was funny but a lesson for us not to challenge ourselves. We reached the summit smoothly but in just a couple of minutes, a thick black clouds came to us and then it rained heavily. We ran so fast though the trail was very slippery just to escape the anger of mother nature. We're lucky enough that still have groufie on top with Monolith as our background, we're not hurt and went home as if nothing happened to us. Don't ever dare yourself because you know nothing and mother nature knows everything.
Mt. Palay-Palay a.k.a Pico De Loro |
It was our first time to do a twin hike in Rodriguez, Rizal. We went to the both summit of Mt. Binacayan and Mt. Pamitinan and we learned so many things just like when you really work hard, you'll receive your reward. It's not about who’s the first person to reach the peak, it's about on how the team helped each other just to reach the summit as one. At the end of the day, you’ll realized that it’s so satisfying and all worth it. It's good to challenge yourself and level up your capacity to experience more extraordinary adventure.

Hulugan Falls became popular after it was featured in Byahe Ni Drew. The first time I saw this falls, I told myself that I need to see it personally and it really happened last February 2016. It was very satisfying but a bit of disappointing adventure. Look at this photo, we waited so long just to pass this area. A heavy traffic in a mountain is becoming normal because of uncontrolled numbers of tourist. Anyway, just be patient and enjoy it, you'll still able to see what you want to see and it's part of your adventure.

We believe in the saying Aim High And Soar The Sky. We shared so many adventure that made our friendship deeper. We experienced extraordinary happiness that we never had before. We saw the real beauty of this world that made us realized that it's really more fun in the Philippines. Our love to nature became our passion that we will treasure to our hearts until our last day in this world.
