| Mt. Ayaas |
Mt. Ayaas is considered as one
of the highest mountain in Rodriguez (formerly Montalban), Rizal. It has an
elevation of 600+ ft. and described as a minor climb. It is located in the
municipality of Brgy. Mascap in Rodriguez and a nearby community of Brgy. Wawa.
You have two option in terms of
the trail, (1) the longer trail that features dusty flattened road, grassland, and
glimpse view of Mt. Balagbag, Mt. Pamitinan, Mt. Binacayan,Mt. Hapunang Banoi
and Mt. Parawagan. It is recommended for a day hike as early as 5AM for a good
sunrise views. The second trail (2) is the shorter trail but with a difficult
aspect. The hikers are protected by the forest. This route is steeper and more
chances from encountering a wild snake. There is a water source in this trail
where you can refill your bottled water and it’s definitely safe and taste like
a purified water (I tried it).
